Ciudad Juarez Prosecutor’s Office Rescues 789 Abused Animals in 2025
EL PASO, Texas – In a significant effort to combat animal abuse, the Northern Zone District Attorney’s Office in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, secured a total of 789 animals in abusive conditions throughout 2025. These rescues were the result of 87 raids conducted in various homes across the region, as reported by ministerial authorities.
These operations were coordinated by the Investigation Unit for Crimes Against Peace, Personal Security, and Public Faith. This action is part of the follow-up to citizen complaints about animal abuse. Search warrants were issued by Control Judges of the Bravos Judicial District, based on investigations carried out by the Public Ministry.

According to the official report, the raids were distributed as follows throughout 2025:

During these proceedings, Public Ministry agents, along with elements of the State Investigation Agency, rescued animals found in critical conditions. These included canines, felines, birds, and livestock, all subjected to ill-treatment, malnutrition, abandonment, and unsanitary conditions, encompassing various breeds and species.
Support from Animal Welfare Organizations
The interventions received direct support from the Directorate of Animal Care and Welfare (DABA), which was responsible for transferring the rescued animals to receive veterinary care and specialized attention appropriate to their needs.
Call to Action for Citizens
Finally, the Northern Zone Prosecutor’s Office urged citizens to report any cases of animal abuse through the emergency number 911, the anonymous complaint line 089, or directly at the dependency’s facilities.
