Two Dead in Ciudad Juarez House Fire

Ciudad Juarez, January 12 – Two individuals died in a house fire in Ciudad Juarez after being trapped in a tragic incident at a home in the Colinas de Juarez neighborhood, located in the southern part of the city. The victims, a man and a woman, were found deceased after firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Emergency Response to the Blaze

The fire occurred at a residence located at 6608 Zacatecas Street, at the intersection with Queretaro. Neighbors in the area noticed the fire consuming the property and immediately reported it to emergency services, prompting the mobilization of aid units.

Upon arrival, members of the Fire Department conducted intensive efforts to extinguish the flames. Once the fire was under control, rescuers entered the home, where they located the lifeless bodies of a woman and a man, both with significant burns. It was confirmed that they no longer showed vital signs.

Victim Identification and Community Reaction

The incident caused consternation among the residents of the neighborhood. According to preliminary information, the woman was identified as Flor Lopez, 26 years old, who reportedly suffered from mental faculties. The man was identified as Alberto Lopez, 36 years old, who, according to neighbors, was responsible for her care. Both identities were confirmed by individuals in the sector.

Ongoing Investigation into the Cause

As of now, authorities have not determined the cause of the fire. Personnel from the Fire Department and other relevant corporations are conducting investigations to establish whether the fire was caused by an electrical fault, negligence, or some other factor.

Forensic Procedures and Further Inquiries

The area was cordoned off to allow for forensic work. The bodies were subsequently transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) for autopsy. Authorities will continue with the inquiries to clarify how this regrettable event occurred.
