Chihuahua, Mexico – January 12, 2026 – An elderly woman has died and several others were injured following a rollover accident on the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez highway on Sunday night. The incident, which occurred at kilometer 132 in the direction of Ciudad Juárez, led to a swift mobilization of emergency personnel.

Emergency Response and Initial Reports

Motorists traveling on the highway alerted emergency services after witnessing the overturned vehicle and reporting injured individuals in need of immediate medical attention. Paramedics from various corporations quickly arrived at the scene to provide first aid to the occupants of a white car.

Two of the injured individuals sustained serious wounds and were urgently transported to hospitals in Chihuahua City for specialized medical care. Unfortunately, during the transfer of an elderly woman who was also in the vehicle, her condition deteriorated. Paramedics from Ángeles Blancos confirmed her death near the Sacramento toll booth, and authorities were immediately notified.

Investigation Underway to Determine Cause

Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the rollover. Factors under consideration include the mechanical condition of the vehicle, the state of the road surface, the possible speed at which the vehicle was traveling, and the weather conditions at the time of the accident.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased or the injured individuals. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses. The incident highlights the importance of road safety and careful driving, especially during night hours and in potentially adverse conditions.
