CIUDAD JUÁREZ, CHIHUAHUA – A man was found deceased in the patio of his home following a shooting incident in the Colonia Independencia II neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez on the night of February 1.

According to initial reports from authorities, a young man made an emergency call to 911 to report that his uncle had been shot after hearing at least four gunshots. The incident occurred at the victim’s residence.
Upon arrival, elements of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat were the first responders on the scene. They located the victim, identified as Juan Carlos C. J., 49 years old, without vital signs. The area was immediately secured in coordination with elements of the Mexican Army and the National Guard to preserve the crime scene.
Fiscalía Initiates Homicide Investigation
Personnel from the State Attorney General’s Office subsequently arrived to collect evidence and commence the corresponding investigations into the homicide. Later, a unit from the Forensic Medical Service transported the body to their facilities for a legal autopsy.
