Ciudad Juárez was represented with a vision of urban transformation focused on the recovery of public spaces and the strengthening of the social fabric.

Ciudad Juárez’s Tactical Urbanism Strategy

Representing Municipal President Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, Yesenia Hidalgo, head of the Resilience Coordination, presented the actions being promoted in the city through Tactical Urbanism. This strategy allows for accessible and participatory intervention in the urban environment to improve safety, sustainability, and quality of life in neighborhoods.

During the event, experiences and lessons learned were shared with cities from different parts of the world, highlighting how these interventions have allowed the community to re-appropriate their public spaces and transform them into more human and resilient environments.

Commitment to International Exchange and a More Livable City

With this participation, the Municipal Government reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening the exchange of experiences at an international level, with the aim of consolidating a city that is more prepared, inclusive, and livable for everyone, Hidalgo added.

The city’s approach emphasizes community engagement and practical solutions to urban challenges. By focusing on tactical urbanism, Ciudad Juárez aims to create more vibrant and functional public areas that directly benefit its residents.

Key Aspects of the Ciudad Juárez Resilience Initiative:

  • Public Space Recovery: Reclaiming and revitalizing neglected urban areas for community use.
  • Social Fabric Strengthening: Fostering stronger community bonds and participation through shared spaces and activities.
  • Accessibility: Implementing urban interventions that are easily accessible and usable by all residents.
