Teacher Sentenced to 30 Years for Sexual Abuse of Two Minors in Ciudad Juarez

Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua – A man identified as Everardo M. R., a primary school teacher, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for aggravated sexual abuse against two minors in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

Teacher Convicted of Aggravated Sexual Abuse

The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women Victims of Crime Due to Gender and Family in the Northern Zone announced the sentence. The conviction was based on ministerial evidence detailing the acts for which the defendant was held responsible.

The incidents occurred between September 2023 and January 2024, inside a primary school in the Galeana neighborhood. Everardo M. R. was found to have committed sexual acts against F. Y. G. P., an 11-year-old minor, and J. P. S. M., a 10-year-old minor, while in his capacity as a teacher.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

Everardo M. R. was arrested on February 19, 2024, through an arrest warrant executed by Investigative Police officers on Arroyo de Chihuahua and Nopales streets in the Colinas del Norte neighborhood. He was then placed at the disposal of the corresponding authority.

The Oral Trial Court determined the custodial sentence after approving the evidence presented by the Public Ministry Agent of the Sexual Crimes Unit of the FEM.

Financial Reparation Ordered for Victims

In addition to the prison sentence, Everardo M. R. has been ordered to pay 289,220 pesos as compensation for damages to the victims.

This case highlights the ongoing efforts by authorities in Ciudad Juarez to prosecute and punish individuals responsible for crimes against minors, ensuring justice for victims.
