Mexican Red Cross Annual Collection Kicks Off in Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, March 10, 2026 – The annual collection of the Mexican Red Cross in Ciudad Juárez officially commenced on Tuesday, March 10, under the inspiring slogan “This you see, we do it together.” The launch event, held at the esplanade of the municipal presidency, was attended by directors of the institution and various municipal and state authorities.

Norma Domínguez, director of the Mexican Red Cross in Ciudad Juárez, highlighted the significance of the slogan, stating, “The slogan for the collection launch is very true; it says, ‘This you see, we do it together,’ and here in Ciudad Juárez, it is more than palpable. On March 21, the Mexican Red Cross celebrates 84 years since its foundation, and we continue to do it together.”

Vital Services and Operational Costs

Domínguez further elaborated on the institution’s critical role and infrastructure. She revealed that the Red Cross in Ciudad Juárez operates with 14 ambulances and two rescue units. Additionally, they manage a nursing school and a school for emergency medical technicians, emphasizing that these are fundamental components of the institution’s services.

In 2025 alone, the ambulances provided over 11,000 free emergency services to the community. The operational cost for the Mexican Red Cross in Ciudad Juárez ranges between 2 million and 2.5 million pesos. The majority of these funds are generated through their medical units, supplemented by support from the state government.

Currently, the Red Cross has three medical units, with an additional unit expected to be delivered in Salvárcar, which will significantly expand their capacity to serve the community. Approximately 54,000 services are provided to citizens at a recovery cost.

Community Support and Future Expansion

Rubí Enríquez, president of the Municipal System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF), expressed her enthusiasm for the collection launch, particularly praising the upcoming expansion. “I am very happy with this launch of the Red Cross collection, a great job they do throughout our country, and here in Ciudad Juárez, we are very happy because they will open a unit in Salvárcar, which will benefit many Juarenses,” she stated.

Enríquez urged residents to contribute generously to the cause. “We invite all Juarenses to donate; a coin means a lot, it means being able to save a life. Any of us may need this help, this support from the Red Cross, and we are very happy and grateful to the volunteers who are very dedicated and passionate about their work, always grateful,” she added, underscoring the collective responsibility in supporting the humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross.

The Mexican Red Cross continues to be a cornerstone of emergency and medical services in Ciudad Juárez, relying heavily on community donations and the tireless work of its staff and volunteers to maintain its vital operations.
