Ciudad Juárez, March 20, 2026 – The Municipal President, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, participated yesterday evening as a special guest in the Regional Transition Convention with Directors of the Northern Zone. The event took place at the Josué Neri Santos Gymnasium, bringing together attendees from churches in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Villa Ahumada, and this border city.

Mayor Pérez Cuéllar Highlights Importance of Religious Work

Mayor Pérez Cuéllar, accompanied by his team, was welcomed by members of the Apostolic and Christian Church, who expressed gratitude for his visit and the support extended to their congregations. During the convention, the mayor addressed the assembled families.

“Thank you for the honor of inviting me; this is the fourth time I have had the privilege of being among you. Thank you for the religious work in our city,” said the municipal leader.

He further thanked them for their dedicated efforts for the well-being of Ciudad Juárez, acknowledging their daily prayers for the city and its people. Following his address, a prayer was offered to bless the mayor’s work and his contributions to the city for the benefit of all Juarenses.

Municipal Government Pledges Continued Support

Mayor Pérez Cuéllar emphasized the municipal government’s commitment to collaboration with religious organizations. “Count on us; in the municipal government, you have an ally; you have an ally in the municipal president, and we will always be at your service and always trying to work as a team so that you can continue doing this important work,” he added.

Event Held at Remodeled Gymnasium

The convention took place in the fully remodeled Municipal Gymnasium, providing a suitable venue for the gathering of religious leaders and their communities from across the northern region of Chihuahua.

Broader Context of Mayoral Engagements

This event is part of a series of engagements by Mayor Pérez Cuéllar, who has been actively involved in various community and civic activities. Recent related news includes his participation in the celebration of Ciudad Juárez’s 366th anniversary with a solemn mass, the unveiling of a bust in honor of the first priest Juan Manuel Villaseñor, and discussions on promoting women in the manufacturing sector as a pillar of the economy.

The mayor’s presence at the Regional Transition Convention underscores the municipal administration’s recognition of the significant role played by religious institutions in the social fabric and moral development of Ciudad Juárez and the wider region.
