New Calisthenics Stations Installed in Ciudad Juárez Parks
Ciudad Juárez, March 28, 2026 – The Directorate of Parks and Gardens in Ciudad Juárez is actively installing new calisthenics stations across various public spaces. Daniel Zamarrón Saldaña, head of the department, emphasized that these projects not only promote physical health but also strengthen community coexistence.
Work is currently underway at Parque Revolución, where a calisthenics station is being cast. This development addresses a growing demand for physical activity spaces in the western part of the city.
“We identified an opportunity in this park, as it receives an increasing number of people. It is a very large space that serves a significant number of residents in an area that has historically lacked public spaces,” explained Zamarrón Saldaña.
Accessible Fitness for All Ages
The official highlighted that these stations are designed to benefit the entire population, from young people to senior citizens, by providing an accessible and free venue for exercise while utilizing urban infrastructure.
Over the past four and a half years, approximately 50 calisthenics stations have been installed in various areas. The project for the previous year alone included the installation of 15 new stations in parks such as Olivia Espinosa, Hacienda de las Torres, Progresista neighborhood, Residencial Gardeno, and soon in La Chaveña.
The objective is to distribute these spaces equitably, ensuring that citizens have close access to the infrastructure.
Resuming the Temporary Employment Program
In addition to the equipment installation, Zamarrón Saldaña announced that the temporary employment program is being reactivated. This program involves instructors training users on the proper use of the stations.
During the implementation of calisthenics stations in 2024, the program recorded over 3,000 attendances in a three-month period. This demonstrated significant public interest in such activities, particularly among individuals who cannot afford or access a gym due to economic or time constraints.
Community Impact and Future Plans
These initiatives align with the city’s broader efforts to enhance public well-being and foster a more active community. The success of previous programs indicates a strong demand for accessible fitness options, and the city government continues to explore ways to meet these needs.
The installation of these stations is part of a continuous commitment to improving the quality of life for residents by providing modern and inclusive recreational facilities.
