Ciudad Juárez, April 6, 2026 – The Animal Care and Welfare Directorate (DABA) in Ciudad Juárez has announced significant achievements in its mission to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. According to the municipal agency’s database, a total of 10,783 animals have been sterilized, and 12,316 pets have received vaccinations.
DABA’s Extensive Outreach and Services
In addition to sterilization and vaccination, DABA has successfully facilitated the adoption of 566 dogs and cats. The directorate has also microchipped 7,670 pets, with a primary focus on canines. These efforts underscore DABA’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of animals within the community.
The agency has also been actively addressing public concerns, responding to 5,680 complaints. These complaints primarily involve animals in abandonment situations and aggressive dogs, highlighting the ongoing challenges in animal management and public safety.
Community Engagement Through “Cruzadas x Juárez”
DABA extended its free services to various neighborhoods through the “Cruzadas x Juárez” initiatives during March. These events provided crucial support to communities, including:

- División del Norte (March 28)
These free services encompassed vaccination, microchip placement, and the application of anti-tick products, directly benefiting numerous pet owners and their animals.

Beyond direct services, DABA has been instrumental in organizing and participating in various community events and educational programs throughout March. These initiatives aimed to foster responsible pet ownership and raise awareness about animal care.
