Mexico City Intensifies Oversight with ‘La Noche es de Todos’ Operation
Mexico City, April 12 – The Mexico City government, through its ‘La Noche es de Todos’ operation, has suspended 10 commercial establishments and arrested two individuals for violating closure seals. These actions, carried out between April 9 and 11, underscore the city’s commitment to ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a safer environment.
The operation, led by the Secretary of Government of Mexico City (SECGOB), involved the verification of 10 commercial establishments. In addition to the suspensions, two establishments were permanently closed for failing to comply with current regulations. Two people were subsequently detained for breaking the closure seals on their businesses and have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.
Three Operations Conducted in Response to Citizen Reports
As part of its direct engagement with citizens and in response to neighborhood reports regarding establishments in the area, a working group was deployed in the Pro Hogar neighborhood, Azcapotzalco borough. This intervention follows the “Gobierno Casa por Casa” (Government House by House) program implemented last week, which aims to strengthen ties with the community and address its needs directly.
These measures are designed to enhance supervision, respond to neighborhood concerns, and contribute to order, legality, and security in community settings. The operations were carried out in coordination with the Institute of Administrative Verification (INVEA), the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), and the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC). This inter-institutional strategy focuses on prevention, legality, and protecting the integrity of individuals frequenting commercial establishments.
Extensive Reach Across Multiple Boroughs
The operations were deployed across several boroughs, including Miguel Hidalgo, Azcapotzalco, Coyoacán, Cuauhtémoc, and Benito Juárez. Specific neighborhoods covered included Popotla, Tlaxpana, Anáhuac, Escandón, Tacubaya, Tlalilco, San Miguel Amantla, El Rosario, Santa María Malinalco, and Pedregal de Santa Úrsula, demonstrating a broad effort to ensure compliance throughout the capital.
The Government of Mexico City, under the leadership of Governor Clara Brugada Molina, reaffirms its commitment to maintaining permanent operations that guarantee security, order, and compliance with the law for the benefit of all residents of the capital.
