Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico – Yesterday, Sunday, April 19, 2026, marked the inaugural edition of the TotalGas Race in Ciudad Juarez. The event, which saw the participation of over 3,000 registered runners, was organized by the gas station company TotalGas in collaboration with the Municipal Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Ciudad Juarez (IMDEJ).

The TotalGas Race was a significant part of the third stage of the 2026 Pedestrian Athletic Circuit. Professor David Serna, representing the organizers, highlighted that participants had the option to run distances of 3 or 10 kilometers, with the latter being the competitive category. The race commenced after 7:00 AM, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the TotalGas representative team at the esplanade of Parque Extremo.

Participants arrived early to receive 700 commemorative t-shirts and engage in physical activation exercises. Additionally, the first 700 individuals to cross the finish line were awarded a medal commemorating the event.

Beyond the athletic competition, the TotalGas Race incorporated a charitable element. Participants were encouraged to donate a pair of new or gently used children’s shoes. This initiative aimed to benefit vulnerable children within the city, underscoring the event’s commitment to community welfare.
