Man Shot Dead in Home Invasion in Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, April 27, 2026 – A man was fatally shot in a home invasion in the Urbivilla del Campo neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez on Sunday night, April 26. The incident occurred at the intersection of Campos de la Laguna and Campos del Poniente streets. The victim’s family immediately reported the attack to emergency services.

Armed Assailants Storm Residence

According to initial reports from authorities, four armed individuals stormed the residence and opened fire on the victim, identified as Luis Fernando M. A., 37, in front of his family. Municipal Public Security elements were the first to arrive at the scene, where they found the man deceased with gunshot wounds to the head.

Authorities Secure the Area and Begin Investigation

Personnel from DEFENSA and elements of the State Public Security Secretariat secured the area. Agents from the State Attorney General’s Office began collecting evidence to initiate the investigation. Subsequently, the Forensic Medical Service was called to transport the body for an autopsy.

Authorities have indicated that one of the alleged attackers was wearing a white cap during the assault. Investigators hope to identify and locate the perpetrators with the aid of security cameras in the vicinity.

Rising Insecurity in Chihuahua

This tragic event adds to a series of security concerns in Chihuahua. Recent incidents in the region include the discovery of a deceased man in the El Sauzal neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez, and the deaths of US agents in Chihuahua, leading to the creation of a unit to investigate an operation against a narco-laboratory.

The community remains on edge as authorities work to bring those responsible for this latest act of violence to justice and address the broader issue of insecurity.
