Chihuahua State Inaugurates Infrastructure Projects in Three Ciudad Juárez High Schools

CIUDAD JUÁREZ, Chihuahua, Mexico – The State of Chihuahua, through its Secretariat of Education and Sport (SEyD) and the Chihuahuan Institute of Educational Physical Infrastructure (Ichife), officially opened new educational facilities in three secondary schools in Ciudad Juárez. These projects, completed on Thursday, April 30, 2026, represent a significant investment in the region’s educational infrastructure, directly benefiting more than 4,100 students across morning and afternoon shifts.

Over 8 Million Pesos Invested in Educational Improvements

The total investment for these infrastructure projects amounted to over 8,425,000 pesos. The initiatives aimed to provide dignified, safe, and functional learning environments, improving the overall conditions for student development and academic achievement.

Detailed Breakdown of Investments and Beneficiaries:

  • Secondary General No. 15 ES-50: An investment of 2,745,000 pesos facilitated the construction of two new classrooms and a stairwell. This expansion will serve 841 students in the morning session and 755 in the afternoon session, totaling 1,596 students.
  • Technical Secondary No. 93: Two additional classrooms were put into operation with an investment of 2,967,000 pesos. These new spaces will benefit 861 students attending in the morning and 843 in the afternoon, for a total of 1,704 students.
  • Technical Secondary No. 98: This school received two new classrooms and a stairwell, resulting from an investment of 2,713,000 pesos. These facilities will directly impact 814 students enrolled at the institution.

Luis Iván Ortega Ornelas, the Director General of Ichife, emphasized that these actions are a testament to the Chihuahua State Government’s commitment to fostering quality educational spaces. He underscored the importance of these improvements in enhancing learning conditions and promoting student growth.

Commitment to Strengthening Educational Infrastructure

Ortega Ornelas reiterated Ichife’s dedication to collaborative efforts with various educational institutions and government agencies. This collaborative approach aims to continuously strengthen the state’s school infrastructure, thereby contributing to the future prosperity and development of Chihuahua.
