Mexico City, May 12, 2026 – The La C guide, an initiative driven by the Contemporary Architecture Foundation (FAC) in collaboration with Cosentino, officially launched in Mexico City. The presentation took place at Cosentino City Mexico City, gathering architects, editors, and academic representatives to discuss contemporary architecture and the use of digital tools for its dissemination.

Digital Platform for Global Architectural Recognition

The digital platform aims to promote the knowledge and recognition of contemporary architectural works globally through an open and free experience. Its functionality combines an interactive website with a geolocation-based mobile application, designed to facilitate the exploration and consultation of architectural works in various cities worldwide.

Announcement of Future “Latin America CCC” List

During the presentation, the upcoming incorporation of the “Latin America CCC” list was announced. This new category will feature a selection of architectural projects completed after 1975 that have received the highest rating within the guide’s evaluation system. This list will join existing categories such as Spain CCC, Portugal CCC, USA CCC, and 200 Best, expanding the platform’s regional reach and strengthening its presence in Latin America.

Furthermore, an open call for proposals for architectural projects to be considered for this selection was announced. Candidates will be reviewed by the scientific committee of the Contemporary Architecture Foundation through an evaluation process involving specialists.

Mexican Architecture Featured on the Platform

Currently, Mexican architecture is already part of the platform’s “200 Best” list, with projects located in various cities across the country. Notable works include the Kinder Park in Mexicali, the María Montessori School in Mazatlán, the Cube Tower, Casa Terreno, the Teopanzolco Cultural Center, the Tamayo Contemporary Art Museum, the Mar Tirreno Residential Complex, the General Archive of the State of Oaxaca, and the Tapachula Station.

Architecture, Criticism, and the City

The event concluded with a colloquium focused on the challenges of contemporary architecture in Latin America and the role of criticism, academic institutions, and editorial dissemination in constructing a regional vision of the urban environment. Participants in the discussion included Andrea Griborio, editor of Arquine; Juan José Kochen, Secretary of Planning and Institutional Development at UNAM; Juan Carlos Vera, architect at Cano Vera Arquitectura; and Ubaldo García Torrente, trustee of the Contemporary Architecture Foundation. The session was moderated by José Luis Muñoz, architect and member of the FAC. Architect Fernanda Canales, who was scheduled to participate, was unable to attend the event.

Currently, La C guide integrates information from 17 international cities, including London, New York, Shanghai, and São Paulo, in addition to thematic lists that classify architectural works according to their relevance and cultural value.
