Xokerball AmeriCup 2026 Expected to Boost Ciudad Juárez Economy

Ciudad Juárez, May 21 – The Xokerball AmeriCup 2026, currently underway in Ciudad Juárez, is poised to generate a significant economic boost for various sectors of the city, according to Rogelio González Alcocer, president of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Ciudad Juárez.

González Alcocer stated that over 400 individuals, including players, technical staff, companions, and visitors, are arriving in the border city from different countries for the international tournament. He emphasized that Ciudad Juárez is well-prepared to host the delegations and fans expected from across the city, as well as from other parts of Mexico and the United States.

International Participation and Economic Impact

The event brings together representatives from 16 countries, with each delegation comprising approximately 15 players. This solidifies the tournament’s international character, placing Juárez in the spotlight of continental sports and culture.

“Attendees will be accommodated in various hotels in Ciudad Juárez and will consume local services, which will generate a significant economic spillover in sectors such as hospitality, restaurants, transportation, commerce, and services,” González Alcocer highlighted.

He further explained that over five days, an intensive schedule of sporting events, activities, and international coexistence will unfold. The objective is for the tournament to provide a positive experience for both participants and visitors to the city.

The hotel industry leader added that the event also represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen Juárez’s international projection, promote tourism, and demonstrate the city’s organizational capacity and infrastructure for hosting large-scale competitions.

Participating Countries

Among the countries participating in the Xokerball AmeriCup 2026 are Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Guatemala, Panama, Belgium, Argentina, and Haiti. Delegations from Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Honduras, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Paraguay are also taking part.

The anticipated influx of visitors is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, with hotels, restaurants, and local businesses benefiting from increased demand. The tournament not only highlights the city’s sporting capabilities but also its capacity to host major international events, fostering tourism and economic growth.
