Body Found in Canal in Riberas del Bravo, Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, May 24 – A significant deployment of emergency services and police forces was registered yesterday in the Riberas del Bravo sector of Ciudad Juárez following the discovery of a deceased person inside a canal. The incident occurred at the intersection of Siglo XXI Avenue and Rivera del Parque.

Citizens observed a portion of the victim’s body and promptly notified authorities through the emergency system. According to witnesses, only the head and part of the back of the person were visible within the canal.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Upon receiving the report, elements of the Heroic Fire Department and municipal police officers arrived at the scene to initiate corresponding maneuvers and secure the area. The area was cordoned off while experts and investigative agents conducted preliminary investigations to clarify the circumstances of the death.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person found, nor have they provided details regarding the possible causes of death. The corresponding authority will be responsible for officially determining how the events occurred once the investigations and forensic studies are concluded.

This incident adds to a series of recent events in Chihuahua. Earlier this month, three individuals were found murdered on the Chihuahua-Aldama highway, bringing the total homicides in May 2026 to 16. In other news, protests were held at the Ciudad Juárez Prosecutor’s Office demanding progress in the Crematorio Plenitud case, and an alleged perpetrator of a shooting involving a father and daughter in Ciudad Juárez was arrested.

The insecurity situation in Chihuahua continues to be a concern for residents and authorities alike, as evidenced by these ongoing investigations and public calls for justice.
