VEMO Accelerates E-Mobility with New Charging Hubs in Mexico City

Mexico City, June 5, 2026 – VEMO, a leading cleantech company, announced yesterday the opening of three new electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs in strategic locations across Mexico City. This expansion significantly bolsters the city’s e-mobility infrastructure, bringing VEMO’s total number of chargers nationwide to approximately 1,950, distributed across 18 states. The announcement follows the company’s achievement of 250 million electric kilometers traveled in Mexico.

Strategic Locations for Enhanced Accessibility

The new charging hubs are strategically positioned to enhance accessibility for EV drivers in key areas of the capital. The locations include:

  • Airport Hub: Located at Avenida Transval 182, Aquiles Serdán neighborhood, Venustiano Carranza borough.
  • Las Águilas Hub: Situated at 5 de Mayo 325, Merced Gómez neighborhood, Álvaro Obregón borough.
  • Mixcoac Hub: Found at Tiburcio Sánchez de la Barquera 109, Merced Gómez neighborhood, Benito Juárez borough.

These new hubs collectively add 69 chargers to VEMO’s network, each equipped with two connectors. The Airport Hub features 21 chargers (4 CCS1, 38 GBT), Las Águilas Hub has 25 chargers (4 CCS1, 46 GBT), and the Mixcoac Hub offers 26 chargers (6 CCS1, 4 NACS, 36 GBT). Each charger boasts a power output of 120.

Boosting E-Mobility in Mexico

VEMO’s continuous efforts are aimed at accelerating the adoption of clean mobility technologies. The company provides integrated solutions that include electric vehicles, data intelligence for fleet management, and a robust charging infrastructure. With these additions, VEMO now records over 110,000 charging sessions per month across its network.

Looking ahead, VEMO has ambitious plans for the future. By 2030, the company aims to install 23,000 connectors in both its public and private networks and integrate 55,000 electric vehicles into its operations. Furthermore, VEMO plans to invest over 1.5 billion dollars in the next five years to further promote electromobility, as reported by Clúster Industrial.

Growth in EV Sales and Charging Infrastructure

The expansion comes amidst a significant surge in the electric vehicle market in Mexico. The Electro Mobility Association (EMA) reported that by the end of 2025, sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles increased by 38.5%. Concurrently, the public charging network saw a 22% expansion, underscoring the growing demand for accessible charging solutions.

VEMO’s strategic investment in Mexico City’s charging infrastructure is a crucial step towards fostering a sustainable transportation ecosystem and supporting the nation’s transition to cleaner energy solutions.
