Ciudad Juarez, July 1 – The Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Crimes Against Peace, Security of Persons, and Public Faith of the District Attorney’s Office for the Northern Zone successfully carried out 12 search warrants in Ciudad Juarez during June. These operations were part of ongoing investigations into animal cruelty, leading to the rescue of 53 companion animals.
Extensive Operations Across Multiple Neighborhoods
Agents from the State Investigation Agency and Public Ministry Agents executed the search warrants in various homes across the city. The targeted neighborhoods included Salvárcar, Cerradas de San Ángel, Chihuahua, El Sauzal, Mariano Escobedo, Valle del Márquez, Barrio Azul, Ciudad Moderna, Industrial, Praderas del Sol, Casas Grandes, and Villas del Río.
These widespread operations underscore the commitment of authorities to combat animal cruelty throughout Ciudad Juarez. The coordinated efforts allowed for the simultaneous investigation and intervention in multiple locations where animals were reportedly suffering from neglect or abuse.
50 Canines and 3 Felines Rescued
During the raids, a total of 50 canines, comprising both male and female dogs of various breeds, were secured and rescued. In addition to the dogs, three felines were also brought to safety. These animals, many of whom were found in distressing conditions, are now under the care of the Directorate of Animal Care and Welfare (DABA) of the Municipality.
The DABA personnel are responsible for providing immediate veterinary attention, food, shelter, and rehabilitation for the rescued animals. The goal is to ensure their recovery and eventual placement in loving homes.
Public Encouraged to Report Animal Cruelty
Authorities are urging the public to report any suspected cases of animal cruelty. Citizens can contact the emergency number 911, use the anonymous tip line 089, or visit the facilities of the District Attorney’s Office for the Northern Zone to file a report. Community involvement is crucial in identifying and addressing instances of animal abuse and neglect.
The successful execution of these search warrants highlights the importance of public cooperation and the dedication of law enforcement agencies in protecting animal welfare. The ongoing efforts aim to create a safer environment for animals in Ciudad Juarez and hold accountable those who commit acts of cruelty.
This series of operations is part of a broader initiative to enforce animal protection laws and promote responsible pet ownership within the community. The authorities emphasized that they will continue to act decisively on all credible reports of animal mistreatment.
The rescued animals will undergo thorough medical examinations and behavioral assessments to determine their specific needs. The DABA will then work towards finding suitable foster or adoptive families for each animal, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve after their ordeal.
