CIUDAD JUÁREZ, Chih. – Two men have been taken into custody by elements of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) following their alleged involvement in a violent robbery at a food establishment in the Eréndira neighborhood. The incident, which included an armed threat and a subsequent police pursuit, concluded with the arrest of the two suspects.

Details of the Robbery and Police Response

According to the SSPM, the events unfolded when officers from the Southern District responded to an emergency call received via the 911 system. The report detailed a robbery in progress at a business located at the intersection of Iztaccíhuatl and Chimapopocatl streets.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials interviewed the manager of the establishment. The victim recounted that moments earlier, two individuals had threatened him with a firearm and, through intimidation, forcibly took money from the cash register. Following the robbery, the suspects fled the scene in a gray Nissan Altima.

The Pursuit and Arrest

Armed with the description provided by the victim, the agents initiated a search operation. They soon located a vehicle matching the reported characteristics several blocks away. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the occupants disregarded police commands and accelerated, triggering a high-speed chase. The pursuit ultimately concluded at the intersection of Pitahaya and Yucatán streets, within the El Granjero neighborhood.

After the vehicle was intercepted, the occupants were positively identified by the victim as the alleged perpetrators of the robbery. The arrested individuals have been identified as David M., 25, and Leonardo Daniel A. R., 24. Both were apprehended on suspicion of their responsibility in the crime of commercial robbery with violence.

Following the reading of their rights, both suspects were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, who will determine their legal status. This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Ciudad Juárez to combat violent crime and ensure public safety.
