The agency labeled these reports as ‘fake news,’ emphasizing that no such action has been carried out this year.
Following the widespread dissemination of a photograph on various social media platforms depicting a supposed suspension notice by the federal agency, the Office of the Consumer Defense (Odeco) for the Metropolitan Zone of Ciudad Juárez issued a statement to clarify the misinformation.
“This representation of the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) did not carry out any suspension or closure diligence in said establishment during the current year. Profeco urges the public to verify information through official channels and avoid publications that may generate misinformation,” the federal agency stated.
