Mexico City, September 1, 2026 – Aeromexico is set to significantly expand its flight frequencies on the route connecting Mexico City and La Paz, Baja California Sur, starting October 25, 2026. This move aims to enhance travel options and support the burgeoning tourism sector in La Paz, as announced by Maribel Collins, Secretary of Tourism and Economy (SETUE).

Increased Flight Options for Travelers

The airline will introduce three distinct flight schedules for each direction. Two of these will operate daily, while the third will run five times a week during the off-peak season. However, during the high season, specifically from December 17, 2026, to January 3, 2027, all three flights will operate daily, substantially increasing seat availability between the two destinations.

“This increase will expand travel options to La Paz and facilitate the arrival of visitors, contributing to tourism development and benefiting various sectors linked to the services our destination offers. We will continue working to generate better connectivity conditions with the rest of the country,” stated Collins.

Positive Trends in Air Travel

This new programming aligns with the consistent positive performance of air transport in the state capital. In July, La Paz International Airport reported an 11 percent growth in passenger traffic compared to the same month in 2025.

Collins highlighted the collaborative efforts between Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), Aeromexico, the La Paz Tourism Trust, and the State Government, through the Secretary of Tourism and Economy, in expanding travel alternatives and fostering tourism development in La Paz and Baja California Sur.

Detailed Flight Schedules

The new flight schedules for the Mexico City to La Paz route are as follows:

  • AM 362: Departure at 08:15, arrival at 09:49 (daily operation)
  • AM 364: Departure at 12:30, arrival at 14:03 (five times a week)
  • AM 366: Departure at 16:15, arrival at 17:48 (daily operation)

For the return journey, La Paz to Mexico City, the flights will operate as follows:

  • AM 363: Departure at 10:38, arrival at 13:55 (daily operation)
  • AM 365: Departure at 14:58, arrival at 18:15 (five times a week)
  • AM 367: Departure at 19:22, arrival at 22:50 (daily operation)

These expanded frequencies are expected to significantly boost accessibility to La Paz, making it an even more attractive destination for both domestic and international travelers. The strategic timing of these flights aims to cater to a wider range of passenger needs, from business travelers to tourists seeking leisure opportunities in Baja California Sur.

The move by Aeromexico is a direct response to the growing demand for air travel to La Paz and reflects the airline’s commitment to supporting regional tourism and economic growth. Local businesses, particularly those in the hospitality and service sectors, are anticipated to benefit from the increased influx of visitors.

The collaboration between government entities and private corporations underscores a concerted effort to enhance infrastructure and services, ensuring that La Paz remains a competitive and desirable travel destination. This expansion is a key component of broader initiatives aimed at strengthening air connectivity across Mexico, thereby promoting internal tourism and facilitating international access.

The consistent growth in passenger movement at La Paz International Airport demonstrates the increasing appeal of the region. With its stunning natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and diverse recreational activities, La Paz continues to draw a growing number of tourists. The additional flights will further solidify its position as a premier travel destination, providing more convenient and flexible travel options for those looking to explore the beauty of Baja California Sur.

The increased capacity during the high season, from mid-December to early January, is particularly crucial as this period typically sees a surge in holiday travelers. By ensuring daily operations for all three flights, Aeromexico is preparing to accommodate this peak demand, preventing potential bottlenecks and ensuring a smoother travel experience for visitors.

Overall, Aeromexico’s decision to amplify its flight frequencies is a positive development for both travelers and the tourism industry in La Paz and Baja California Sur. It signifies confidence in the region’s tourism potential and a commitment to fostering its continued growth and accessibility.
