Music Producer Luis de Llano Detained in Mexico City for Disobedience

Mexico City, September 2nd – Luis de Llano Macedo, a prominent music producer, was temporarily detained by elements of the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) on Wednesday, September 2nd, at approximately 6:30 PM. The arrest took place at a residence on Lope de Vega Street, Polanco neighborhood, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of Mexico City.

The producer, who has been accused of abuse by singer and actress Sasha Sokol when she was a minor, was immediately taken to the Administrative Detention Center in the Mexican capital, as confirmed by the National Registry of Detentions.

Court Orders Lead to Detention

According to Sasha Sokol’s legal team, the detention of Luis de Llano was carried out under two orders issued by a Superior Court Judge. These orders were a response to de Llano’s resistance to comply with a moral damages sentence handed down by the Supreme Court of Justice. Each of these resolutions imposes a cumulative 15-hour arrest, potentially leading to a 30-hour detention.

The information was disseminated to the media through Zimat Consultores, the public relations agency representing Sasha Sokol. The SSC of Mexico City officially confirmed that Luis de Llano’s detention was due to contempt of court.

Sokol’s lawyers further indicated that should the producer continue to disregard the sentence, he could face charges carrying a penalty of up to five years in prison.

The Sasha Sokol Abuse Case: A Recap

Luis de Llano was previously sentenced for engaging in an abusive relationship with Sasha Sokol when she was 14 years old and he was 39. After many years, Sokol publicly denounced the producer, leading to a civil sentence that mandated:

  • Recording and submitting a public apology to Sasha Sokol to the court.
  • Publishing a summary of the sentence, confirming his responsibility for moral damages against Sasha Sokol, as it was proven that the singer was a victim of sexual abuse as a minor.

This detention marks a significant development in the ongoing legal proceedings surrounding the high-profile case that has brought national attention to issues of abuse and accountability within the entertainment industry.

The public apology and publication of the sentence summary are key components of the civil ruling, aiming to provide redress for the moral damages suffered by Sasha Sokol. The producer’s continued non-compliance has now resulted in direct legal action, underscoring the judiciary’s commitment to enforcing its rulings.

The case has resonated deeply within Mexican society, sparking conversations about child protection, power dynamics, and the importance of victims’ voices being heard. As the legal process continues, further developments are anticipated regarding Luis de Llano’s adherence to the court’s directives and the potential implications of his continued resistance.

The arrest serves as a reminder of the legal consequences for failing to comply with judicial orders, particularly in cases involving serious allegations of abuse. The outcome of this situation will be closely watched by both the public and legal observers.
