Welfare Housing Project Nears Completion in Three Municipalities; Juárez Continues to Lag
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua – The State Commission of Housing, Land and Infrastructure (Coesvi) has announced that the Welfare Housing Project is on the verge of delivery in the municipalities of Delicias, Jiménez, and Ascensión. However, Ciudad Juárez remains behind schedule, with ongoing efforts to develop the project in this border city.
Óscar Lozoya, Coesvi’s delegate for the Northern Zone, confirmed that work is progressing in Ciudad Juárez. The Municipal Board of Water and Sanitation (JMAS) is currently awaiting authorization for projects that will provide potable water and sewage services to the social infrastructure. Lozoya indicated that significant progress has been made in technical discussions, which involve various government agencies at all three levels and convene every 15 days, resulting in several feasibility approvals.
“The issue is moving forward in Ciudad Juárez, and good news will surely be announced in the coming days. As I mentioned, none of the land plots are being ruled out, and the aim in Juárez is to ensure that these are dignified homes, meaning they will have all necessary services,” Lozoya stated.
