She reiterated the institute’s commitment to strengthening academic and collaborative ties, stressing that in an era of artificial intelligence advancements and widespread access to knowledge, institutions must combine their capabilities and forge alliances for the betterment of society. In healthcare, she added, patients are the primary beneficiaries of these collective efforts.
Clinical and Scientific Avant-Garde
The academic program delves into current topics in contemporary orthodontics, including the use of micro-implants for skeletal anchorage, the planning, design, and 3D printing of aligners, and airway management across different life stages.
The seminar features two nationally recognized specialists:
- Dr. Myrna Denisse Castro Poblette: A specialist in Maxillofacial Orthopedics and Orthodontics from the Children’s Hospital of Mexico, UNAM, with additional training in craniofacial orthodontics at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Castro Poblette is sharing her expertise on cleft lip and palate, craniofacial anomalies, and orthopedics with MARPE.
- Dr. Jonathan Salinas Ortiz: An orthodontist and faculty member of the Orthodontics Postgraduate Program at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ). During his address, Dr. Fabián de León Chacón underscored the importance of creating professional development platforms that enable practitioners to share experiences, expand their knowledge, and enhance their clinical practice. He noted that while technology offers new opportunities in orthodontics, foundational knowledge, clinical judgment, continuous preparation, and ongoing education remain vital for delivering quality care.
The President of the College of Orthodontists of Ciudad Juárez also emphasized that collaboration among specialists not only fosters academic growth within the profession but also contributes to the well-being of patients and the community.
In addition to the educational activities, the seminar is serving as the venue for certification exams by the Orthodontics Council of the State of Chihuahua A.C., an initiative that reinforces the commitment to professional preparation and excellence.
Through this gathering, UACJ, UACH, and the participating colleges are solidifying their academic and professional collaboration in orthodontics, thereby contributing to Ciudad Juárez’s growing reputation as a leader in continuous education and specialized oral health training.
