Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua – The Chihuahua State Prosecutor’s Office announced the rescue of 43 animals found in conditions of neglect across several neighborhoods in Ciudad Juarez during the month of April. The operations, led by the District Attorney’s Office for the Northern Zone, resulted in 39 dogs and four cats being taken into protective custody.

Rescue Operations Follow Citizen Complaints

The Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Crimes Against Peace, Personal Security, and Public Faith reported that the rescues were initiated following numerous citizen complaints regarding animal abuse and abandonment. These complaints prompted search warrants and subsequent interventions at various residences throughout the city.

The affected neighborhoods where the operations took place include Senderos de San Isidro, Partido Romero, Centro, Electricistas, Vistas del Valle, Vistas de la Cumbre, Morelos IV, Zaragoza, La Cañada, and Constitución.

Animals Under DABA Care

Following their rescue, the animals were placed under the care of the Directorate of Animal Care and Welfare (DABA) Rescue Center in Juarez. DABA is responsible for providing essential veterinary care, food, and ongoing monitoring for the secured animals.

The Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that these interventions were carried out under judicial orders, executed by Public Ministry agents and elements of the State Investigation Agency. They reiterated their commitment to continuing actions against animal abuse and prosecuting those responsible for aggression or abandonment of pets.

Ongoing Efforts Against Animal Cruelty

This significant rescue highlights the ongoing efforts by authorities in Ciudad Juarez to combat animal cruelty and ensure the welfare of pets. The proactive response to citizen complaints underscores the importance of community involvement in reporting such incidents.

The Chihuahua Prosecutor’s Office encourages residents to continue reporting any suspected cases of animal neglect or abuse to help protect vulnerable animals in the region. These actions are crucial in promoting a more humane environment for all living creatures in Ciudad Juarez.
