José Dolores O. V., 50, a member of a motorcycle club, was detained by ministerial agents on Friday, September 18, for allegedly resisting a review and attempting to assault police officers.

The arrest took place on Friday afternoon at the intersection of Independencia Boulevard and Fernando Montes de Oca, in the El Papalote neighborhood. According to Gabriela Cota Santos, spokesperson for the Northern Zone District Attorney’s Office, agents from the State Investigative Agency pulled over José Dolores O. V. for a routine review. The suspect was driving a white Peugeot Partner Cargo.
The official report indicates that during the intervention, the man began to insult the agents and subsequently attempted to assault them. This led to his forceful subdueing by the police. He was then transferred to the State Investigative Agency facilities and later placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, facing charges of resistance and disobedience to authorities.

A video recorded during the September 15 Independence Day celebrations at Chamizal Park in Ciudad Juarez captured the moment he confronted two young content creators. Reports suggest the man became upset after allegedly being sprayed with foam by attendees. The situation escalated, leading the biker to confront and threaten the young individuals.
The images quickly went viral across social media, sparking widespread reactions due to the man’s aggressive behavior during the public celebration. One of the individuals confronted was local content creator Dfer Estrada. The video shows the biker approaching the influencer and complaining about the incident, repeatedly reaching inside his vest, though no weapon is clearly visible in the footage.
Arrest Unrelated to Influencer Incident
While the arrest occurred after the man went viral for his threats, the Prosecutor’s Office clarified that the detention was not directly related to the confrontation with the influencers. The corporation stated that the reason for the intervention was his alleged conduct during the review conducted on Friday. Agents located him driving on Independencia Boulevard and decided to stop him for inspection. Following a verbal exchange, the man reportedly attempted to assault the ministerial agents, leading to his arrest.
The Public Ministry will now determine his legal status as the investigation into resistance and disobedience proceeds.
Wider Context: Violence During National Holidays
This incident occurs amidst reports of violence in various parts of Mexico during the September 15 and 16 celebrations. In Guanajuato, for instance, the state Prosecutor’s Office reported six armed attacks between midday on September 15 and the early hours of September 16, resulting in five deaths and five injuries. These incidents took place in Irapuato, Salamanca, Pénjamo, and Valle de Santiago.
In Irapuato, homicides were reported in the UrbiVillas del Rey subdivision and later in the UCOPI neighborhood, where a man identified as Elías “N” died. Salamanca saw two attacks: one in the Benito Juárez neighborhood resulting in a death, and another around 11:00 PM in the Nativitas neighborhood, injuring four people.
The early morning of September 16 also brought violence to Pénjamo and Valle de Santiago. In Pénjamo, a man identified as José “N” was found dead, while in Valle de Santiago, Manuel “N” died and a woman was injured. The state Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that this information is preliminary and subject to change as investigations progress.
This preliminary count contrasts with the state government’s report, which stated that over 521,000 people participated in the celebrations across 46 municipalities and described the official operation as having a “clean slate.” The Secretariat of Security and Peace reported the participation of approximately 2,500 state elements, coordinating with federal and municipal authorities.
Meanwhile, in Ciudad Juarez, the case of the biker who became a viral figure for his threats during the Grito celebrations has moved from social media to the Prosecutor’s Office, where he remains at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
