“This is also violence” campaign seeks to identify everyday risks for women in Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – March 24, 2026 – The “This is also violence” campaign is advancing in Ciudad Juárez, with results focused on highlighting behaviors that are often considered normal but represent different types of aggression. The initiative was presented during the monthly report of the “Lo Hacemos por Todas” program, led by Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar.

The project, promoted by the Municipal Institute for Women in coordination with the media outlet Entérate Mujer, has focused its efforts on explaining how violence can manifest in various ways in daily life. From physical aggression to psychological, economic, digital, vicarious, and obstetric violence, the objective is for women to be able to identify signs that previously went unnoticed.

According to Elvira Urrutia Castro, head of the institute, recognizing these types of violence allows for a key step to curb their repetition and facilitate access to justice. The strategy aims to generate awareness and name situations that have been invisible for years.

To broaden its reach, the campaign was disseminated at various points in the city through billboards, advertisements on public transport and bridges, as well as audiovisual materials for television and radio. A social media account was also enabled under the username @tambienesviolencia.jrz, where useful information and related content are shared.

Additionally, as part of complementary actions, informative materials were distributed in tabloid format, as well as keychains with NFC technology and violencemeters with QR codes, tools designed to facilitate immediate access to guidance and information on this topic.
