CIUDAD JUÁREZ, Chihuahua – The Center for Justice for Women (CEJUM) in Ciudad Juárez successfully concluded its ’16 Days of Activism’ campaign with a poignant art exhibition held on Wednesday, December 11, 2025. The event, which took place at the CEJUM facilities, showcased a collection of artistic creations by students from Federal Secondary School No. 7, aiming to raise awareness about human rights and gender-based violence.

Art as a Voice Against Violence

The exhibition served as a powerful culmination of the 16 Days of Activism, an international campaign spanning from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day). This initiative seeks to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls worldwide.

According to Salvador Miranda, a representative involved in the event, the art pieces displayed by the young students offered unique perspectives on human rights and the critical issue of gender violence. The works, ranging in various artistic mediums, demonstrated the students’ understanding and interpretation of these complex societal challenges.

Empowering Youth Through Art

The participation of students from Federal Secondary School No. 7 highlights CEJUM’s commitment to engaging youth in discussions and actions related to human rights. By providing a platform for these young artists, the organization aims to foster a generation that is more aware, empathetic, and proactive in addressing social injustices.

The exhibition not only showcased artistic talent but also served as an educational tool, encouraging dialogue and reflection among attendees about the importance of human rights and the ongoing struggle against gender-based violence. Visitors to the exhibition had the opportunity to engage with the themes presented by the students, fostering a deeper understanding of the issues at hand.

CEJUM’s Ongoing Commitment

The Center for Justice for Women (CEJUM) plays a crucial role in Ciudad Juárez by offering support and legal assistance to women who have experienced violence. Their activities extend beyond direct aid to include educational campaigns and community engagement, such as the recently concluded 16 Days of Activism.

The success of the art exhibition underscores the effectiveness of creative approaches in conveying serious messages and involving the community in vital social causes. CEJUM continues to be a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change in the fight for human rights and the elimination of gender violence in the region.

The event was well-attended by local community members, educators, and human rights advocates, all coming together to support the cause and appreciate the artistic contributions of the young students. The positive reception of the exhibition reinforces the importance of such initiatives in promoting a culture of respect and equality.
