Chihuahua Launches ‘Chihuahua is for You, Get to Know It! 2026’ Program in Ciudad Juárez

CIUDAD JUÁREZ, Chihuahua, January 29, 2026 – The Chihuahua State Tourism Secretariat officially launched the call for the “Chihuahua is for You, Get to Know It! 2026” program in Ciudad Juárez. The program’s primary objective is to bolster events with distinct tourism identities, thereby stimulating the economic and comprehensive development of the state’s various regions.

Program Aims to Support Cultural and Gastronomic Events

Jorge Chávez, the Secretariat’s representative in the Northern Zone, elaborated that the program is designed to provide crucial support to organizers of events that highlight Chihuahua’s rich cultural heritage, traditions, and unique identity. This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to fostering local talent and showcasing its diverse attractions.

Selected projects will be eligible for economic subsidies, with a total fund exceeding 2.5 million pesos. This financial backing is intended to facilitate the execution of activities that align with the program’s goals.

Categories for Participation

The call for proposals includes several key categories:

  • Cultural Events: Encompassing artistic expressions, traditional crafts, and historical commemorations.
  • Gastronomic Events: Featuring regional cuisine exhibitions, tasting sessions, and wine harvest festivals.
  • Fairs and Festivals: Events centered around a representative element of the community, integrating one or more of the aforementioned components.

Dafne Gandarilla, Head of Tourism Linkage and Attention, specified that the call is open to a broad spectrum of applicants. This includes individuals, legal entities, organizations, municipal governments, businesses, academic institutions, clusters, chambers of commerce, civil associations, tourism service providers, tourism sector employees, municipalities with a tourism vocation, and educational institutions related to tourism.

Application Details and Important Dates

The application period for proposals will run from February 1 to February 28, 2026. During this time, interested parties can register their projects. The official calendar of selected events is slated for announcement in April 2026.
