Chihuahua State Charro Championship 2026 Concludes Successfully in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez, June 29, 2026 – The “Adolfo López Mateos” Lienzo Charro was the ideal setting for the successful conclusion of the Chihuahua State Charro Championship 2026. Families from Juárez and visitors from across the state gathered to celebrate Mexico’s national sport in an atmosphere of healthy camaraderie and high-level competition.
The event, which brought together charro enthusiasts, culminated on Sunday afternoon with the highly anticipated grand final. Finalist squadrons fiercely competed for top honors, keeping emotions high until the very last paso de la muerte.
Rancho El Bayo Crowned Champion
After an intense competition, the results were as follows:
- First Place, Champion: Rancho El Bayo – 247 points
- Second Place: Santa Paulina B – 230 points
- Third Place: Reencuentro – 225 points
Juan Escalante, Director of the Municipal Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Juárez (IMDEJ), extended his gratitude to the Mexican Charro Federation and all the competitors who left their mark on the arena.
“On behalf of the Municipal President, Héctor Rafael Ortiz Orpinel, I thank everyone for considering Ciudad Juárez for this magnificent event that concludes today. Return home safely and remember that you are always welcome here,” said the IMDEJ director.
The competition, organized by IMDEJ, the Municipal Charro League, and Coyuma Productions, highlighted the strength of charrería in Chihuahua.
Thrilling Performances and Escaramuzas
In addition to the grand finalists, the arena vibrated with the performances of Centauros de Pepe Terrazas, Compadres de Ciudad Juárez, Charros de Chihuahua, Hacienda La Peña, and the Senior categories.
The beauty, precision, and gallantry of women on horseback were showcased in the vibrant Escaramuza Fairs. The public applauded the spectacular routines presented by emblematic groups such as Caporalitas (A, B, and C), Misión de San José, Mi Alma, Bárbaras del Norte, Tradición Charra, Soles del Desierto, Gaviotas, Santa Paulina, and Rarámuris.
The event not only celebrated the tradition of charrería but also fostered community spirit and provided a platform for showcasing the talent and dedication of charro athletes.
