Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – December 22, 2025 – The Chihuahua State Government, through the Secretariat of Education and Sport (SEyD), has initiated the distribution of academic scholarships benefiting 548 high school students in Ciudad Juárez. This program represents a total investment of 767,200 pesos, aimed at supporting educational continuity in the region.
Scholarship Details and Distribution
Each scholarship provides 1,400 pesos, constituting the first installment for December. A second disbursement is scheduled for May or June of the following year. This financial aid is a crucial component of the state administration’s broader efforts to ensure students remain within the state’s educational system.
Maurilio Fuentes, the Undersecretary of Education in the Northern Zone, emphasized the importance of these scholarships in fostering student retention. “These grants are part of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that our students have the necessary support to continue their education,” Fuentes stated.
Beneficiaries and Collection Points
The scholarships are allocated to students across 15 state high schools, one distance-learning high school, and the Center for Attention to Violence Against Women (Cavim). This targeted approach aims to reach a diverse group of students in need of financial assistance.
Beneficiaries can collect their funds at the Tax Collection offices located in the José María Morelos y Pavón Administrative Unit, commonly known as “Pueblito Mexicano.” The collection hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The deadline for claiming the scholarships is January 15, and officials urge all beneficiaries to collect their funds promptly to avoid any delays.
Government’s Commitment to Education
This initiative underscores the Chihuahua State Government’s ongoing dedication to strengthening the educational landscape in Ciudad Juárez. By providing direct financial support, the government aims to alleviate economic barriers that might otherwise prevent students from completing their secondary education.
The program is expected to have a significant positive impact on the academic trajectories of the 548 student recipients, contributing to higher retention rates and improved educational outcomes in the region. The Secretariat of Education and Sport continues to explore and implement strategies to enhance access to quality education for all students in Chihuahua.
The distribution process is being closely monitored to ensure that all eligible students receive their support efficiently and without undue complications. The government remains committed to transparency and accountability in the allocation of public funds for educational purposes.
This scholarship program is one of several initiatives designed to support the youth of Ciudad Juárez, reflecting a holistic approach to community development that prioritizes education as a cornerstone of progress.
