The Mexico City Environment Secretariat (SEDEMA) invites residents to bring their natural poinsettias and Christmas trees to designated collection centers across the capital. This program, which runs throughout January and February 2026, aims to encourage proper organic waste management and prevent these festive plants from being discarded improperly.

Why is this program important?

Collected plants will be utilized for composting and as green cover, supporting the circular economy and environmental protection. This initiative helps reduce waste and transforms it into valuable resources for the city’s green spaces.
