Ciudad Juárez, July 1, 2026 – During a meeting of the City Council’s Education Commission, councilors determined the economic support to be granted to student teams that will represent Ciudad Juárez in various national and international educational competitions. This initiative aims to bolster the city’s presence in academic and scientific fields.
Councilors Allocate 150,000 Pesos for Student Support
Councilor and Coordinator of the Commission, Jorge Marcial Bueno Quiroz, together with Councilor José Mauricio Padilla, reached an agreement on the distribution of a total of 150,000 pesos. This substantial amount is designated to support students across different academic levels, enabling their participation in high-level competitions.
The financial aid will benefit young individuals participating in competitions scheduled to take place in the states of Campeche, Jalisco, and Nuevo León within Mexico, as well as in Colombia for international events. These students will represent Ciudad Juárez in diverse disciplines such as chess, sciences, and various academic tournaments, showcasing the breadth of talent within the city’s educational institutions.
Recognizing Dedication and Minimizing Financial Burden
Bueno Quiroz emphasized the exemplary dedication and effort demonstrated by these students. He highlighted that their participation in such events elevates the name of Ciudad Juárez, both nationally and internationally, underscoring the importance of investing in their development and opportunities.
The members of the Commission pointed out that this type of support serves as a crucial recognition of the talent and potential of the students. Furthermore, it significantly contributes to alleviating the financial burden often faced by many families. It is a common occurrence for parents to bear the costs of travel, accommodation, and participation fees for their children in these academic competitions. By providing this aid, the city council aims to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder students from pursuing their academic aspirations and representing their community.
This initiative reflects a proactive approach by the Ciudad Juárez City Council to foster educational excellence and provide tangible support to its brightest young minds. It is anticipated that this investment will not only facilitate student participation but also inspire future generations to strive for academic achievement and contribute to the city’s reputation as a hub of talent and innovation.
