8M March 2026 in Ciudad Juárez: Time, Meeting Point, and Route Announced

Ciudad Juárez, February 12, 2026 – Feminist collectives and mothers of disappeared women in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, have issued a call to participate in the March 8, 2026 (8M) march, marking International Women’s Day. This mobilization is part of broader national movements advocating for justice, equality, and an end to violence against women.

Mobilization Details and Key Participants

The march is scheduled to commence at 12:30 PM, with the designated meeting point being the Benito Juárez Monument in the city’s downtown area. Among the prominent participants will be Ana Cuéllar, mother of Jessica Ivonne Padilla Cuéllar, and Consuelo López, mother of Griselda Murúa. Both women have tirelessly campaigned for years, demanding the location of their disappeared daughters.

Planned Route for the 8M March

According to the official announcement, the march will follow this route:

  • Departure from the Benito Juárez Monument
  • Proceed along Constitución Street
  • Continue onto 16 de Septiembre Avenue
  • Turn onto Juárez Avenue
  • Conclude at the Cruz de Clavos, where a collective statement will be read.

Organizers anticipate an attendance of approximately 13,000 people for this significant event. The city of Ciudad Juárez is actively seeking volunteers to form a Security Committee to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the march.

Recommendations for Attendees

For all individuals planning to participate in the 8M 2026 march, a series of recommendations have been issued:

  • Arrive in advance to avoid overcrowding.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
  • Stay hydrated throughout the event.
  • Follow instructions from organizers and traffic authorities.
  • Be aware of potential road closures or detours in the city center.

Broader Causes to be Highlighted

Collectives such as ‘Hijas de su Maquilera Madre’ have indicated that the mobilization will also serve to raise awareness for other critical causes. These include the defense of territory, environmental protection, and the labor rights of workers in the maquiladora industry.

The 8M march in Ciudad Juárez is a crucial component of the nationwide efforts to demand justice, equality, and the eradication of violence against women across Mexico. Similar demonstrations are expected to take place in various cities, collectively amplifying the voices of women and their allies.
