Ciudad Juárez Seeks New Identity Through Public Logo Design Competition

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua – The Municipal Government of Ciudad Juárez, in coordination with the Chihuahua Competitiveness Center, has announced a public competition inviting residents to design a new official logo for the city. The initiative aims to refresh the city’s identity and project its essence, history, and future vision on both national and international levels.

The call for proposals, which opened on March 20, 2026, will conclude on March 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM. This short window encourages prompt participation from local talent.

Eligibility and Submission Requirements

To participate, individuals must be over 18 years of age and be natives of Ciudad Juárez or have verifiable residency. Proposals can be submitted individually or as part of a team. A crucial requirement is that all ideas must be original and unpublished, ensuring no infringement on third-party rights.

Each submission must include the logo design itself, along with color and monochromatic versions. Participants are also required to provide a basic usage manual detailing typography, color palette, and primary applications of the logo. Additionally, a conceptual justification of up to 500 words must accompany the project, explaining the graphic elements used. Participants must also provide their contact information.

Technical Specifications for Submissions

All proposals must be submitted digitally. This includes a PDF file containing the concept presentation, editable files in formats such as AI, EPS, or SVG, and high-resolution versions in PNG and JPG formats.

Evaluation Criteria and Prizes

An evaluation committee will assess submissions based on several key criteria, including originality, creativity, representativeness of local identity, versatility, conceptual clarity, and visual impact. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. The winning design will become the official image of Ciudad Juárez, with its usage rights transferred to the Municipal Government.

Strengthening Community and Global Projection

This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster a stronger sense of belonging among residents and to enhance Ciudad Juárez’s image on a larger stage. By involving the community directly in the creation of its new visual identity, the city aims to ensure the logo truly reflects the spirit and aspirations of its people.

The competition provides a unique opportunity for designers and creative individuals in Ciudad Juárez to contribute significantly to their city’s future representation.
