Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua – The State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Coespris) is actively strengthening its collaboration with the funeral sector across the state, aiming to solidify sanitary regulation and standardize practices to mitigate potential health risks to the population.

Coespris Engages 50 Funeral Homes in Regulatory Push

As part of this strategic initiative, Coespris has participated in working meetings with representatives from funeral establishments, including 50 funeral homes operating in the border city of Ciudad Juárez. These meetings facilitated the establishment of agreements designed to enhance sanitary surveillance and offer greater clarity to the regulated sector.

A key commitment emerging from these discussions is the standardization of criteria for sanitary requirements that funeral service facilities must meet. The objective is to establish clear and uniform guidelines applicable to all establishments, ensuring consistency and compliance across the board.

Enhanced Surveillance and Continuous Feedback

Furthermore, an agreement was reached to intensify sanitary surveillance efforts. This will involve promoting preventive actions and encouraging continuous adherence to current regulations. This proactive approach aims to maintain high standards of public health and safety within the funeral industry.

Another crucial aspect of the agreement involves maintaining constant feedback with the funeral sector regarding major findings identified during verification visits. This open channel of communication will enable establishments to implement control and improvement measures promptly, addressing any areas of opportunity that arise.

Upcoming Integrity and Anti-Corruption Conference

Coespris also committed to keeping the sector informed about regulatory updates, sanitary surveillance criteria, and processing procedures. This will ensure that responsible parties possess the necessary information to fulfill their obligations in a timely and proper manner.

In addition, it was announced that the “Integrity and Anti-Corruption Days 2026” event will take place in November. This event aims to promote principles of ethics, integrity, and regulatory compliance among Coespris and the regulated sector, specifically the Union of Funeral Homes of Ciudad Juárez.

This concerted effort by Coespris underscores its commitment to public health and safety by ensuring that funeral services operate under stringent sanitary standards, thereby protecting the community from potential risks.
