Deputy Jael Argüelles Delivers 100 Pairs of Glasses to Toribio Ortega Residents in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, February 21, 2026 – In an effort to safeguard the health of children, adolescents, and their families in Ciudad Juárez, Deputy Jael Argüelles Díaz, a member of the Morena party, delivered one hundred pairs of glasses to residents of the Toribio Ortega neighborhood in the border municipality.
The event took place at the Juan Álvarez Primary School as part of a visual health outreach program for the community. During the event, the legislator was received by the school’s principal, Jaime Ortuño, with whom she discussed the needs of the educational community and explored potential initiatives to benefit the school.
Collaboration with Ceredil for Visual Health
The eye examinations and distribution of glasses were carried out in coordination with Ceredil (Centro de Reciclado y Distribución de Lentes, A.C.), an organization dedicated to providing visual care to vulnerable communities. Beneficiaries received prior evaluations to determine the appropriate prescription, facilitating their daily activities.
Residents who participated stated that the support would allow them to read medicine labels, sew, work, and function with greater autonomy. Deputy Argüelles indicated that these actions aim to bring basic services to neighborhoods facing limitations in accessing specialized care. She also expressed her willingness to maintain coordination with civil organizations to expand the coverage of these supports.
Commitment to Educational and Health Initiatives
Finally, Argüelles Díaz pledged to manage the delivery of glasses for students who require them at the school, as well as to follow up on the requests of the school community. She stated that she would continue to promote actions in education and health in various sectors of Ciudad Juárez.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the needs of residents in vulnerable communities, ensuring access to essential services that contribute to their well-being and development. The collaboration between government officials and civil society organizations highlights the importance of joint efforts in improving public health outcomes.
The event underscores the ongoing commitment of local authorities to support their constituents and foster a healthier, more productive community. Such programs are crucial in areas where access to healthcare services might be limited, providing immediate and tangible benefits to those most in need.
