Elderly Woman Identified After Fatal Rollover on Chihuahua-Ciudad Juarez Highway
Chihuahua, January 14 – A rollover accident on the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juarez highway last Sunday night resulted in the death of an elderly woman and left several others injured. The vehicle, traveling north on the heavily trafficked route, reportedly veered off the road and overturned.
The incident occurred at approximately kilometer 132, prompting an immediate response from emergency services after motorists reported the crash. Paramedics arrived at the scene to provide pre-hospital care to the injured occupants. Two individuals were subsequently transported to hospitals in Chihuahua City for specialized medical attention due to the severity of their injuries.
Victim Identified as Martha Palacios Gamboa
Hours after the accident, authorities confirmed the deceased as Martha Palacios Gamboa, 65 years old. She was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the rollover. Reports indicate that the woman tragically passed away during ambulance transport, with her death confirmed near the Sacramento toll booth.
The vehicle sustained significant damage after leaving the asphalt, leading to considerable injuries among its occupants. The exact circumstances that led to the vehicle departing the roadway are currently under investigation.
