Fire Engulfs Two Commercial Premises in Ciudad Juárez Downtown

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua – A fire reported in two commercial premises in the downtown area of Ciudad Juárez triggered a significant mobilization of the Fire Department and emergency corporations in recent hours. The incident, which occurred in the La Mina commercial corridor, at the intersection of La Paz and Mariscal streets, saw rescue teams working immediately to contain the flames.

Firefighters executed maneuvers to prevent the fire from spreading to other businesses in the sector, given the close proximity of the commercial establishments. The swift response was crucial in controlling the blaze and mitigating further damage.

No Injuries Reported

According to information provided at the scene, no injuries were reported. However, the two affected premises suffered material damage and a considerable accumulation of smoke. Jorge Puentes, the Fire Commander, stated that the priority during the emergency was to prevent the fire from reaching contiguous establishments, a situation they successfully managed to control after several minutes of intensive work.

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

As of now, authorities have not determined the causes that originated the fire. Corresponding investigations will be conducted to clarify how the fire started. This incident adds to the more than 2,000 fires attended by Chihuahua firefighters so far in 2026.

The quick action of the firefighters prevented a potentially much larger disaster, highlighting the importance of rapid response in densely populated commercial areas.
