First Entrepreneurship Meeting 2026 Held in Ciudad Juárez
Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – The First Entrepreneurship Meeting 2026 took place on Thursday, February 26, at the Cepia Hall in Ciudad Juárez. The event saw the participation of approximately 180 individuals, predominantly entrepreneurs, and also featured presentations from successful business cases. The primary objective of the meeting was to equip entrepreneurs with essential tools for business growth and formalization.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Municipal President Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, Director of Economic Development Tania Maldonado, and council members Pati Mendoza and Alejandro Acosta.
Focus on Formalization and Growth
Tania Maldonado, Director of Economic Development, emphasized the importance of business formalization. “We aim to provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge to register their brands, manage their credit bureaus, and maintain proper accounting. For this, we have brought in speakers who can guide them through the process of formalizing their businesses,” Maldonado stated. She also highlighted the inclusion of successful entrepreneurs who shared their growth journeys, demonstrating the potential for significant development.
Maldonado reported that between 70% and 80% of the 1,200 entrepreneurs on their registry have successfully formalized their businesses. She added, “Last year, we had similar events that were very successful, showing the public’s interest in entrepreneurship and business growth. We offer advisory topics to help them achieve formalization.”
The event, titled ‘Growing and Strengthening Entrepreneurship,’ targeted Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs. Topics covered included trusts for entrepreneur credits, leadership, and improved accounting practices.
Economic Development Initiatives and Successes
Municipal President Cruz Pérez Cuéllar underscored the city’s robust economic activity. “Just recently, the Job Fair was organized in conjunction with Index Juárez, offering over 2,000 vacancies, primarily in the maquiladora industry. Approximately 5,000 people attended, which speaks to the current economic climate and the increased need to focus on economic development,” Cuéllar remarked.
He further highlighted the success of supplier rounds, where the Economic Development department connects local suppliers with the industry. This initiative has resulted in 25 contracts between various local businesses and the maquiladora industry, totaling 1.7 million dollars.
Future Plans for Entrepreneurship Meetings
Tania Maldonado announced that these entrepreneurship meetings would be held every two months throughout 2026, totaling six events. “We will have one every two months, similar to last year, to cover all topics of interest to the community,” she confirmed.
The event concluded with a strong message of support for the entrepreneurial community in Ciudad Juárez, aiming to foster a dynamic and formalized business environment.
