Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico – In a joint effort to combat vulnerability and promote social well-being, the Municipal Women’s Institute (IMM), in coordination with the Ciudad Juárez Food Bank A. C., announced the delivery of 1,535 pantries to women and their families during the first quarter of 2026.

Strategic Distribution to Vulnerable Families

This inter-institutional alliance facilitated the strategic distribution of packages containing basic foodstuffs and cleaning supplies between January and March. The program primarily targets women receiving specialized care at the IMM, seeking not only to ensure food security for their households but also to complement efforts in preventing and raising awareness about gender-based violence.

During this period, authorities from both institutions carried out a total of 29 delivery sessions across the various units operated by the Institute in the city. The direct impact of these actions benefited 328 women and 48 men in vulnerable situations.

Comprehensive Support with a Gender Perspective

According to the IMM, the allocation of these comprehensive supports is based on a prior diagnosis derived from socio-nutritional studies. With this, the decentralized agency reaffirms its commitment to providing comprehensive support with a gender perspective, addressing the most urgent needs of Juarense families.

The initiative highlights the ongoing commitment of local authorities and civil society organizations to address critical social needs within the community. The collaboration between the IMM and the Food Bank serves as a model for effective partnership in delivering essential services to those most in need.

The program’s focus on women and their families underscores the IMM’s broader mission to empower women and ensure their well-being, recognizing the pivotal role they play in their households and communities. By providing tangible support such as food and hygiene products, the program aims to alleviate immediate burdens and create a more stable environment for families.

Further details regarding the impact and future phases of the program are expected to be released by the IMM in upcoming reports, as they continue to monitor the effectiveness of their interventions and adapt to evolving community needs.
