Mexico City, July 27 – InDrive, a private transportation platform, has issued an official statement regarding the case of Paulino “N”, who is being investigated by the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ CDMX) as an alleged sexual aggressor on board private transport units. The company categorically rejected any act of sexual violence and confirmed the permanent disabling of the involved driver’s account.

InDrive Rejects Sexual Violence and Disables Driver’s Account

As reported by Reporte Índigo, on July 16, agents of the Investigative Police located and apprehended the alleged aggressor in the Iztapalapa borough. He was subsequently linked to a process for aggravated equivalent rape, for events that occurred on June 1, 2025, in the Tlalpan borough. InDrive has since activated its immediate response protocols and initiated a detailed review of its records.

“At InDrive, we categorically reject any act of sexual violence, aggression, or conduct that violates the dignity, freedom, safety, and integrity of individuals. We deeply regret the reported situation and express our solidarity with the people who may have been affected,” the company stated in a press release.

Measures Taken by InDrive

As a primary measure in response to the seriousness of the accusations, InDrive immediately and permanently blocked the account of the implicated driver. The company is also activating support and accompaniment measures for victims through its official support channels, including its website and the in-app chat feature.

Collaboration with Authorities and Investigation Confidentiality

Regarding the ongoing investigation led by the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office, InDrive affirmed its full willingness to cooperate with official requirements within the legal framework. However, the company specified that it would not offer further details of the case to avoid interfering with the investigations.

“Out of respect for the affected individuals and the ongoing investigation process, we will not share additional information that could interfere with the work of the authorities,” the platform noted.

Background of the Case

The investigation into Paulino “N” became public after allegations of sexual assaults affecting at least six users in the capital. This incident highlights the ongoing risks associated with private transportation services and the need for robust safety protocols.

Previous Incidents and Public Concern

This case follows a series of discussions and concerns raised about the safety of private transportation in Mexico City, prompting calls for stricter regulations and enhanced security measures for both drivers and passengers. The swift action by InDrive to disable the driver’s account and cooperate with authorities is a critical step in addressing these concerns.

The Role of the Prosecutor’s Office

The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office continues its work in gathering evidence and prosecuting the alleged aggressor. The apprehension of Paulino “N” in Iztapalapa and his subsequent linkage to the process for aggravated equivalent rape underscore the commitment of law enforcement to address such crimes.
