Ciudad Juarez, September 27 – The Municipal Board of Water and Sanitation (JMAS) in Ciudad Juarez has announced a significant investment of 200 million pesos this year for pothole repair across various sectors of the city. According to Executive Director Alberto Paredes, 100 million pesos have already been invested, with an additional 100 million planned to complete the total allocation for 2026.
Coordinated Efforts to Address Pothole Backlog
Paredes explained that, in addition to JMAS’s budget, the State Government’s Public Works department is contributing another 100 million pesos for these efforts. He clarified that both resources are managed in a coordinated manner, with each agency overseeing its own budget. The first 100 million pesos from JMAS were utilized in July, and the second phase, also for 100 million, began in August and is expected to conclude in November. Paredes indicated that a third phase will follow, as the intention is to maintain continuous pothole repair work to achieve the primary objective of these resources: significantly reducing the number of potholes in Ciudad Juarez.
