Ciudad Juárez, June 27, 2026 – The Directorate of Cleaning has announced the reinforcement of the “Juárez Amanece Limpio” (Juárez Wakes Up Clean) program through the establishment of “Clean Points” in four neighborhoods across the city. This initiative aims to provide residents with accessible locations to dispose of large, unwanted items that often become an eyesore or a health hazard in their homes and public spaces.

Strategic Placement of Clean Points

The new “Clean Points” have been strategically placed in four sectors of the city to maximize accessibility for a larger number of residents. This expansion is a direct response to the community’s need for efficient waste management solutions, particularly for items that are not typically collected during regular trash services.

Jorge Meza, from Urban Image, emphasized the importance of citizen participation in the success of this program. “We invite all residents to take advantage of these containers to dispose of objects that represent a hindrance in their homes,” Meza stated, highlighting the collaborative effort required between the local government and the community.

The “Juárez Amanece Limpio” Program in Action

The “Juárez Amanece Limpio” program has been a cornerstone of the municipal government’s efforts to improve urban cleanliness and quality of life. This recent reinforcement builds upon previous successful initiatives, such as the fifth “Juárez Amanece Limpio” day, which involved cleaning efforts in ten neighborhoods, focusing on dikes and parks.

The program addresses a critical need for proper disposal of bulky waste, including old furniture, appliances, and other household items that are often left on streets or in vacant lots, contributing to environmental degradation and public health concerns. By providing designated “Clean Points,” the city aims to mitigate these issues and foster a more organized and hygienic urban landscape.

Community Engagement and Environmental Benefits

The establishment of “Clean Points” is expected to yield significant environmental and social benefits. By offering a convenient and responsible way to dispose of unwanted items, the program encourages community participation in maintaining a clean environment. This not only improves the aesthetic appeal of neighborhoods but also reduces the risk of pest infestations and illegal dumping.

In addition to the “Clean Points,” the municipal government has been actively engaged in various environmental initiatives. For instance, residents in Colonial del Valle recently organized a recycling campaign, where the Municipal Government provided bins and will donate trees, further promoting sustainable practices within the community.

Broader Impact on Urban Improvement

The reinforcement of “Juárez Amanece Limpio” is part of a broader strategy by the municipal government to enhance urban infrastructure and public services. Efforts such as the “Cruzada por Juárez Atención a las Causas” (Crusade for Juárez Attention to Causes) bring municipal and federal services directly to residents, addressing various community needs, including urban cleanliness.

These initiatives collectively contribute to a more livable and sustainable Ciudad Juárez, demonstrating the government’s commitment to improving the daily lives of its citizens through practical and impactful programs.

The Directorate of Cleaning urges all residents in the designated neighborhoods to utilize these new “Clean Points” to contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more organized city. The success of this program heavily relies on the active involvement and cooperation of the community.
