CIUDAD JUÁREZ, CHIHUAHUA – A man was killed this weekend after a group of sicarios violently broke into his home in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and opened fire. The victim, whose identity has not been officially released, was pronounced dead while being rushed to a local hospital by family members.
Sicarios Storm Residence, Victim Dies En Route to Hospital
The incident occurred at a private residence where the assailants repeatedly shot the male victim. Authorities were alerted to the sound of gunfire, and units from the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) quickly arrived to cordon off the crime scene.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim’s family attempted to transport him to a nearby hospital for specialized medical attention. However, paramedics who intercepted the private vehicle confirmed that the man no longer showed signs of life, having succumbed to multiple bullet wounds sustained during the sicario attack. The scene was subsequently handed over to forensic services for evidence collection.
Investigation Launched as Perpetrators Flee
Elements of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Chihuahua have initiated the corresponding investigation files to locate the perpetrators, who fled the scene in an unknown direction after the attack. Eyewitnesses reported that the sicarios used high-caliber weapons and were traveling in vehicles whose characteristics are currently being analyzed through the city’s C7 surveillance camera system.
This event adds to a series of violent incidents recorded in Ciudad Juárez over the past two months, where clashes between criminal groups have heightened the perception of insecurity among residents.
Escalating Violence and Delinquency in Border City
According to data from civil organizations and security agencies, attacks perpetrated by sicarios in private homes have seen a 12% increase compared to the same period last year. This direct attack modality aims to intimidate rival groups, affecting public peace in peripheral neighborhoods.
Historically, Ciudad Juárez has been a focal point for the operations of various criminal cells and sicarios vying for control of logistical routes. The intervention of the National Guard and the Mexican Army has intensified at exit control points, seeking to curb the mobility of these armed groups who carry out their actions in broad daylight or in high-density residential areas.
The authorities continue their efforts to bring those responsible for this latest act of violence to justice and to restore a sense of security to the community.
