Man Shot Dead in Frida Kahlo Neighborhood, Ciudad Juárez

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua – A man was fatally shot in the Frida Kahlo neighborhood of Ciudad Juárez on Friday, February 21, 2026. The victim has not yet been identified, and the Chihuahua State Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía General del Estado de Chihuahua) has initiated an investigation into the incident.

Emergency Call After Gunshots Heard

According to initial reports, residents in the vicinity of Diego y Yo and Soneto 154 streets heard several gunshots. They promptly contacted emergency services. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers from various police agencies discovered the victim lying on the public road, showing no signs of life.

After confirming the fatality, officers secured the area, establishing a perimeter to allow forensic experts and ministerial agents from the State Attorney General’s Office to conduct their work. The body was subsequently transported to the Forensic Medical Service (Servicio Médico Forense) for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.

Investigation Underway, Victim Unidentified

The authorities have opened an investigation file to clarify the facts surrounding the shooting and to identify and apprehend those responsible. The identity of the victim has not been officially released.

This incident adds to ongoing concerns about insecurity in Chihuahua. Authorities continue to work on resolving cases of violence in the region.
