Mexico City Congress Advances Ratification of Evaluation Council Members
Mexico City, March 10, 2026 – The United Commissions of Local Public Administration and Development Planning of the Mexico City Congress have advanced the process for the potential ratification of four members of the Mexico City Evaluation Council (EVALÚA CDMX). This development occurred on Wednesday, March 10, 2026, when the commissions unanimously approved the opinions regarding the candidates’ continued tenure.
The Third Extraordinary Session of these United Commissions saw the unanimous approval of the ratification procedure for Miguel Calderón Chelius, Myriam Cardozo Brum, Francisco Pamplona Rangel, and Teresa Shamah Levy. Each will serve an additional four-year term.
Candidate Evaluations and Scores
According to the approved opinions, each candidate underwent a thorough evaluation process. The scores obtained were as follows:
- Miguel Calderón Chelius: 9.4
- Myriam Cardozo Brum: 9.5
- Francisco Pamplona Rangel: 9.4
- Teresa Shamah Levy: 9.4
These scores were deemed sufficient for the candidates to be eligible for ratification.
Transparency and Objectivity in the Process
Deputy Elizabeth Mateos Hernández, President of the Local Public Administration Commission, stated that individual interviews were conducted with each candidate. The purpose of these interviews was to gain insight into their profiles, professional trajectories, and proposals.
“This was done to gather the necessary elements to assess their suitability for ratification and ensure a process based on the principles of objectivity, transparency, and merit,” emphasized Mateos Hernández.
The Morenista deputy further added that all legislators who are members of these commissions had access to the information, documentation, and other necessary elements to carry out a comprehensive, objective, and duly substantiated assessment of the aspiring candidates.
