Mexico City Congress Integrates Permanent Commission and Approves Session Calendar
Mexico City, May 31, 2026 – The Plenary of the Mexico City Congress has approved an agreement regarding the integration of its Permanent Commission and the corresponding session calendar for the Second Recess of the Second Year of Exercise. The decision, formalized through Agreement AC/CCDMX/III/JUCOPO/2A/022/2026, was presented by the Political Coordination Board (JUCOPO) and includes the formation of the Board of Directors for this period.
Composition of the Board of Directors
Deputy Jesús Sesma Suárez, from the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM), will serve as the President of the Board of Directors. The vice-presidencies will be held by Deputies Yuriri Ayala Zúñiga of MORENA and Olivia Garza de los Santos of the National Action Party (PAN). Deputy Cecilia Vadillo Obregón, also from MORENA, will take on the role of Secretary.
Members of the Permanent Commission
The Permanent Commission will include a diverse representation of political parties. From MORENA, the members are Deputies Brenda Ruiz Aguilar, Ángel Augusto Tamariz Sánchez, Paulo Emilio García González, Elizabeth Mateos Hernández, Ana Luisa Buendía García, and César Emilio Guijosa Hernández.
The PAN will be represented by Deputies Daniela Gicela Álvarez Camacho, Claudia Montes de Oca del Olmo, and Laura Alejandra Álvarez Soto. Other members include Rebeca Peralta León of the PVEM, Miriam Saldaña Cháirez of the Labor Party (PT), Luisa Fernanda Ledesma Alpízar of Citizens’ Movement (MC), Tania Nanette Larios Pérez of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Nora Arias Contreras of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), Erika Lizeth Rosales Medina of the Progressive Parliamentary Association of Transformation (APPT), and Diana Sánchez Barrios of the Parliamentary Association of Women for Feminist and Inclusive Commerce (APMCFI).
Designated Substitutes
A list of substitutes has also been designated to ensure the continuity of legislative work. For the MORENA Parliamentary Group, the substitutes are Xóchitl Bravo Espinosa, Víctor Hugo Lobo Rodríguez, Juan Estuardo Rubio Gualito, Víctor Gabriel Varela López, Alberto Martínez Urincho, and Judith Vanegas Tapia.
The PAN Bench’s substitutes are Frida Jimena Guillen Ortiz, Mario Enrique Sánchez Flores, and Lizzette Salgado Viramontes. Manuel Talayero Pariente will substitute for the PVEM, Jannete Elizabeth Guerrero Maya for the PT, and Royfid Torres González for MC.
Additionally, Omar Alejandro García Loria will substitute for the PRI, Pablo Trejo Pérez for the PRD, Gerardo Villanueva Albarrán for the APPT, and Leticia Haro Jiménez for the APMCFI.
Session Calendar for the Second Recess
The approved agreement also outlines the session calendar for the Permanent Commission, which will run from June 2 to August 31, 2026. The sessions are scheduled for the following dates:
- June: 2, 10, 17, and 24
- July: 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29
- August: 5, 12, 19, 26, and 31 (closing of the period)
This structured calendar aims to ensure consistent legislative activity during the recess period, allowing the commission to address ongoing matters and prepare for future sessions.
