Mexico City, July 18 – The Federal Educational Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM) announced an extension of the pre-registration period for preschool and first grade primary for public schools in Mexico City, pertaining to the 2026-2027 school year. The new deadline for extemporaneous pre-registrations is July 20, 2026.
Extension for Late Applicants
The extemporaneous registration will be available until July 20, 2026, on the official website: https://www.aefcm.gob.mx/preinscripciones-gobmx/. This period is exclusively for those who missed the ordinary pre-registration period and, consequently, do not have an assigned school for the upcoming academic year.
The system will automatically validate the information provided by parents or guardians. If an applicant already has an assigned school, it will not be possible to complete an extemporaneous pre-registration. Only one registration per applicant is permitted, so interested parties must verify their information before submitting their application, as the process applies solely to public basic education schools in the capital.
Consultation of Ordinary Assignment Results Continues
Delgado Carrillo also informed that the consultation of ordinary assignment results for preschool and first grade primary, in both regular and special education schools, remains available for those who have not yet checked their assigned school.
For first grade secondary, the assignment results will be published starting August 4, 2026. The period to request changes will be open from August 6 to August 10, 2026.
Students who did not complete their ordinary pre-registration for first grade secondary can participate in the extemporaneous pre-registration process for available places, which will take place from August 6 to August 12, 2026.
